Mindful Conversations Hostos Reads -Disagreeing Thoughtfully 11/8/2018

Thursday November 8, 2018 at 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM Room B-413 15 seats available

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in a roundtable discussion of the 2018-19 Hostos Reads! selection, Alan Jacobs’ How to Think: A Survival Guide for a World at Odds.

Are people who disagree with us always our adversaries? How often do we practice seeking out “smart, sensible, and fair-minded” arguments to support positions we disagree with? Is this always necessary? Whether you’ve read the whole book, or just a few pages, your contributions are welcome.

You will receive the PD Participation Badge after you complete and provide feedback. This will enter you into the EdTech Innovation Chase, which is a game-based digital badging system to provide badges for participating in professional development activities, mentoring, and innovating.
