Location: Library group study room, 213B

CTL/Hostos Reads! and the Library are hosting a series of informal book discussions in the Library’s group study room 213B. Staff, faculty, and students are encouraged to join in lively discussions about the novel and related themes. Completing suggested sections for the each meeting is encouraged but not mandatory. Everyone is welcome!

In order to accommodate various schedules, groups will meet two times per week, each meeting covering the same sections of the book:

About the Instructors:

Lisa Tappeiner is an Associate Professor and Collection Development librarian in the Library Department. This year, she is also co-coordinating the Hostos Reads common reading initiative through the Center for Teaching and Learning and teaching a section of the First Year Seminar.

Silvia Reyes oversees all Title V initiatives including, Student Research with faculty, Supplemental Instruction in gateway courses, Capstone Assignments and Small Group Tutorial. She previously served as the Assistant Director of the Hostos Academic Learning Center. She holds a Master Degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University and, her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology is from Hunter College. Prior to joining Hostos, she served as program coordinator and taught Developmental Reading Courses and the New Student Seminar at LaGuardia Community College.
